With the rise of bloggers entering the blogosphere cause the world of blogging to become over crowded and eventually cease to exist? Will new social media sites cause bloggers and blog readers to loose interest in blogging?

I read an interesting article on Copyblogger today about the death of blogging. The article was in response to an article written by Huge Macleod from gapingvoid. Brian Clark’s article, Blogging is Dead (Long Live Value Blogging) brought up some interesting points.

The discussion of blog death on Copyblogger has most to do with the rising use of social media sites like Facebook and Twitter. Will the fascination for new social media site like Facebook and Twitter cause bloggers and blog readers to loose interest in blogging? The answer to this question seems to be “no”, as long as your blog has value.

The reason why blogging has become so popular in recent years is because it’s ease of use. Blogging allows the regular Joes and Janes to create their very own website without having to know how to build websites. Blogging has allowed people to have a voice that can be heard around the world. As soon as people discovered they could make money blogging a rush of new blogs entered the blogosphere. So, with the rise of bloggers entering the blogosphere cause this world of blogging become over crowded and eventually cease to exist? The answer to this question is also “no” , as long as your blog has value.

I recently wrote an article on “Monkey Blogging” which goes perfectly with this topic of blog death. Ever since the general public realize that they could make money blogging there seems to be a rise is “monkey bloggers”. Monkey bloggers are those that have little or no original content but instead copy the design and content of a successful blogger. Blogging should be about offering the world that individual voice you have and not creating look alike blog.

So, how do you prevent your blog from dieing? As with all things you expect to grow you need to nurture your blog. If you don’t continually offer your blog food (quality original content, your voice), new clothes (up-to-date blog design) and social interaction (social networking) it might die. A blog is essential a human voice. This is why they are so popular and this is why blogs will be hear for a long time to come. The look and feel of blogging might change but the need for expression and human interaction will never change.
