RideSearch.com is a free Nationwide carpool service that offers a number of useful commuter features. With the way gas prices are today it is important to find as many ways as possible to reduce your expenses. What better way to reduce your expenses than to reduce your gasoline purchases? The price of gasoline is over $3.60 where I live and it just really makes me angry that it has once again reached these outrageous price. Ok, back to the review, I just need to get out some of my frustration on the price of gasoline.
One last rant before I continue. Not only can you save on gasoline if you carpool but you can also help reduce pollution by getting one less vehicle off the roads on a regular basis. RideSearch slogan, “carpooling for better tomorrow”, encourages people to think about how their actions now can impact our future. I think the slogan is great!
RideSearch.com offers are a Carpool Savings Calculator and an online store that carries bumper stickers and T-shirts. They also offer a list of 8 ways you can get involved and help RideSearch make an impact. One way you can spread the news is by downloading a printing RideSearch flyers and passing them out to your friends or posting them on bulletin boards.
After creating your RideSearch account you are prompted to create a profile which includes your name, contact phone numbers and gender. All of this information will be kept confidential. Next, you will fill in the home and work location forms. These forms include where you will need to be picked up and dropped off.
Here are some screen shots of the members area.

Additional information, such as, work schedule and preferences are also required before a ride share match can be made.
Fortunately I don’t have to commute to work but if I did I would certainly consider searching for a carpooling partner.
This post is a sponsor review of RideSearch.com. I haven’t done a sponsored review in a while but I was asked so here it is.

That’s quite an interesting service. I’m all for things that make life a little easier, save some money, and help the environment. I think RideSearch does a bit of all three.
Hi Mona,
With increasing traffic carpooling is a great way to try to reduce it as well as saving gas & pollution which is a definite worry these days.
It’s also a great idea to try to combine your outings & do all your chores at one time. This saves a lot. Now all we have to do is cut back on being a taxi service for our kids.
P.S. Just saw you mentioned at top of Ultimate List of Moms on Twitter list that eMoms posted on their blog today. Bet it generated some traffic!
@Andrew - I think its a cool service that can benefit many. Thanks for stopping by!
@Gaida - Yes, I just noticed that yesterday. I think I got about 20 new Twitter followers that day. I would imagine it will increase for a few days due to that post.
I was telling someone the other day that if we got a full carpool on the way to work we could lower our gas expenses to under a dollar a gallon. I hope ridesearch takes off.
What a great way to save money and gas, possibly network, and also not have to drive all the time! I will have to check this out because out here in Chicago gas is $3.70 a gallon!
