Say Goodbye to The Make Money Online Cliq Widget - Cliq Service Will No Longer Be Available

I had hopes that the Make Money Online Cliq widget would grow and be a good source of traffic but after a month of only having two members join I was a lot less hopeful. I had planned on inviting people directly to the Cliq but that is no longer an option. I recieved an email from Cliq support informing me that they will be shutting down the Cliq service on Jan. 31st.

CLIQ service on Jan 31st.

Offermatica, Inc. originally created CLIQ as a way to research and
explore the role of content merchandising in Social Media. As of last
month, Offermatica has been successfully acquired by Omniture — a
market leader that already offers solutions in this space.

I am not at all disappointed to hear this news. I was getting ready to remove the widget from iwebis and Time To Budget anyway. From what I could see in the groups area, there was not a whole lot of people interested in the service. I think this had much to do with the fact that you could not join more than one Cliq without setting up more than one account.  I did set up more than one account and had three Cliq groups but only a few members joined each of my groups.

The other thing I realized after having the Cliq widget for almost a month was that people could join your Cliq without having to put the widget on their own site. This meant that I was giving free traffic without receiving any traffic from the other member’s websites.  I am not sure why I didn’t catch on to that in the beginning but I didn’t.

I am always willing to try out new services to use if they are useful to my readers, or to increase traffic or income. Sometimes they are keepers and other times they are not.  So we say goodbye to the Cliq widget today.
