Frontpage Bids – Make Money On Your Hot Digg Stories – Advertise On The Hot Digg Stories

Don't forget to subscribe to iwebis RSS feed. You can also Subscribe to iwebis by Email Thanks for visiting!

What if there were a way to automatically sell ads space on your stories that hit the Digg hot list? Or for you to buy ads space on Digg and Reddit hots stories? Today is you lucky day because there is such a advertising network that offers you the chance to take advantage of the ‘hot list’ of various social news sites like Digg, Reddit and StumbleUpon .

Frontpage Bids is unique in that bloggers (Content Provider) can be increase their income by monetizing there social news traffic and advertisers can directly bid on ads placements of high traffic articles.

In there own words.

We will be holding ongoing bids for advertisers, where the leading bidder is next to appear on a website that gets to the front page of Digg or Reddit. Advertisers can choose which category and network they are bidding on.Website owners that have content that frequently reaches the front page of Digg and/or Reddit now have a new solution that monetizes those huge traffic bursts. We pay 60% of the highest bid to the website owner.

At this point I am not really clear on how to become a Content Provider. The homepage of Frontpage Bids gives a brief description of the benefits of being a Content Provider but after I login I don’t see a place to include my website information. It may be that they just haven’t gotten to this feature yet. The email I received offering an invite to Frontpage Bids as an advertiser not a content provider so I am not sure if that means they are not offering that feature yet. I could very well be that because I don’t know my way around this new system I am just missing it, so I am going to contact the company for more information. Isaac from Frontpage Bids informed me on how to become a content provider. You simply click on the “Obtain key” button and follow the instructions from there.  I knew it was probably something easy that I was missing but I think it would have been nice if the button said “for content providers”, or something like that.

I haven’t yet placed a bid with Frontpage Bids but it seems to be a easy 4 step process. Below are screen shots of the four steps to placing a bid.

From an advertisers standpoint, Frontpage Bids could be very useful. They do offer an article for article for advertisers on their blog, Why Advertise on a Site That Is Experiencing the Digg Effect?. This blog post does help you to understand how the system works and why it could be a good way to advertise.

Right now Frontpage Bids is in private beta and I just so happen to have 10 invites available. If you are interested please contact me.

    Hello,
Thank you for the great feedback. To be a content provider you just need to click on the “Obtain a Key” button on the left menu. This will ask you for your information. Once filled out, it will give a Javascript code to put in your articles. We monitor our forums often so you are welcome to ask questions there too. Thanks again.

[...] FrontpageBids – The idea behind FrontpageBids is that you can sell ads space on the posts that hit it big through Digg and other social news sites. You are required to include a script that will allow advertisers to purchase ads space once your story hits it big. The script that is place at the top of the post has a small banner ad already “holding” this spot. By default the banner for Thembid is holding the Frontpage Bids ad spot. [...]
