#1 Never stop seeking new information and never stop learning.

The number one thing I have learned this year was to never stop seeking new information. This year has been one of huge growth for me personally as well as in the knowledge of things related to online marketing, social media, online income and blogging. The internet literally offers information at your fingertips but so much of this information is missed by many people.

Much of the information I learned throughout this year was acquired through search engines, social networks and visiting other website (especially blogs). Although searching the net can produce unsatisfactory results at times, there can be a lot of useful information found if you look in the right places.

I used to think that surfing the net was another way of saying you don’t know what you are looking for so you just going along for the ride, hopping from one website to another. In fact I used to get so overwhelmed because I couldn’t always find what I was looking for and ended up finding things I didn’t want to find. I can usually find what I am looking for now and if I can’t I take advantage of what I do find.

Blogs are another source of useful findings. Since I am a blogger I am always looking for new and useful widgets, income opps, designs and plugins. Each time I find a new blog I give it a once over. I view it from the top of the page to the bottom to see if the blog has anything I have not seen or tried on my blogs before. Nine times out of ten I don’t find anything new or interesting (beside content) but when I do I usually try it out on one of my blogs.

It may be that you acquire information in a similar fashion but there are many people who don’t continue to seek new information. Over the years I have talked to people that are static and don’t have any desire to learn new things and it saddens me. Learning means we are growing and I think far to many people have decided to stop growing.

So I encourage those of you who are not actively seeking new information on a regular basis to see the benefits. I am hopeful that the knowledge I have gained this year means great things for the year 2008. Follow iwebis and learn with me.
