#12 - Contribute quality content to other blogs and networks.

By contributing to other blogs you can connect with people who share your interests. If you purpose for commenting on blogs and social networks is to advertise your website then you are missing the whole idea of networking.

When someone takes the time to read your content whether it be on your blog, in a comment on another blog or in a social network they are left with an impression. The impression can either be positive or negative depending on the content. Content that offers the reader useful information will continue to produce interest over time. Content that is shallow and offer little usefulness to the reader usually fades with time. There are exceptions to this of course but I do think that content offered with a purpose of contributing to a discussion will generally keep on giving.
