15 Things I Learned In 2007 That Improved My Blogging and Increased My Income #14

#14 – Don’t be afraid to set goals and don’t be afraid to fail.

This year I became am a firm believer in setting goals. Though there are times I don’t actually reach the goals I have set for myself, but I believe that if we don’t have a direction we are less likely to move forward. We have to be intentional about your plans and dreams. We need not be afraid to set goals because of the possibility failing. Failure is not a setback, but a time to learn what doesn’t work which will bring us closer to finding out what does work.

I can’t count how many times I have failed to reach goals this year because I finally viewed failure as a tool instead of an excuse to quit. I do remember goals that I did reach but often time forget how many times I had to fail before I actually succeeded. Don’t be afraid to set goals and don’t be afraid to fail.

Here are a few quotes on goal setting I thought might like to read.

Elbert Hubbard

Many people fail in life, not for lack of ability or brains or even courage but simply because they have never organized their energies around a goal.

Les Brown

Life takes on meaning when you become motivated, set goals and charge after them in an unstoppable manner.

C.S. Lewis

You are never too old to set another goal or to dream new dream.
