Since we are coming to the end of the year I thought it would be a good time to reflect on the things I have learned this year about blogging, marketing and online income. Instead of listing all 15 things at once I am going to write about one for the next fifteen days. This is sort of like a count down to the end of the year.
#15 - Not all monetizing options are best for your blog.
One thing I learned rather quickly after starting iwebis was that not all monetizing options worked with every blog. For instance, Adsense is not a good money maker for this site and for a time I had almost completely gotten rid of all Adsense ads. I decided to place a few Adsense ads on iwebis but I still don’t make much money with it.
I did find out however that my other blog Time To Budget does quite well with Adsense. Steadily my income has been increasing on Time To Budget using Adsense. The topic of finances always brings more money when we are talking about advertising. Text Link Ads have also done very well on Time To Budget.
I continually experiment with different money making techniques for iwebis as well as my other blogs. I think that experimenting is key to finding out what monetization techniques are best for your blog. Don’t be afraid to give each new technique a testing period. I usually give at least 30 days to decide whether it is worth using.
