Cliq - Are You In One? - Better Than BlogRush

So after about a month I got tired of having the BlogRush widget on iwebis. Some traffic would trickle in but it wasn’t enough to impress me. One thing I wish widget developers like BlogRush would offer are more widget color options. I really didn’t like the dark grey/black color of the widget. The color of the widget was not the only reason I decided to remove BlogRush but certainly was on of the reasons.

I suppose if I was getting tones of traffic from BlogRush I would have dealt with the non matching widget color. For all I know they might be giving us more color options by now but that doesn’t matter to me now because I found a new blog sharing widget that I am going to try out.

Cliq is much different than BlogRush because you can create a group or cliq that can better fit your blog topic. If the purpose of joining blog content sharing widgets is to also collaborate with other bloggers that are similar to your niche then Cliq is a better choice than BlogRush.

With a Cliq widget you can set up a group that is private or public which means you can decide who and what is published through your widget. If you are only interested in personally inviting friends to your Cliq then just set your Cliq for private use. The private feature offers blogger more control of what appears on their blog.

Even if you choose to make your Cliq public you can still monitor what is published through your widget and remove blogs or articles that don’t fit. There is no limit to how many blogs can join a Cliq.

What I most like about the Cliq widget is that you can create your own community of bloggers. You don’t have to be apart of a general audience of bloggers who fit under a broad category. I also am very please with the fact that you are given the option of including a avatar/profile picture. This option gives people the chance to be seen as an individual instead of just a plain text headline. The photo option is also great for my Queen of Social Network Marketing project. .

It seems that Cliq still needs a bit of work. There are some features or lack of features that need improvement. For one you can’t join more than one Cliq with the same account. They do however let you set up multiple accounts, which is what I did. Having to set up multiple accounts is a bit of a pain and seems silly but it wasn’t hard to set up new accounts either. I do think a few more widget color options would encourage more people to join but they do offer a light gray one that can fit many blog themes.
