I stumbled across a blog a little over a week ago that struck me as having potential. Bloggers Showroom only just launched this November buts seems to be getting noticed fairly quickly. Bloggers Showroom gives readers and visitors the chance to rank other blogs. You are given the chance to rank blog appearance and content. Rating websites is not a new concept but being given the chance to give a more detailed rating is not always offered.
Vince, the blog author, emailed me after I offered him a few helpful tips in a comment. He asked if I would review his blog as well as promote it in hopes that more bloggers will submit their blogs for review, and as you can see I said yes. Getting noticed is not always easy so from time to time I find blogs that I am willing to promote because they have a potential for success. So here I am offering my review but I want you to know that I don’t view myself as an expert in the area of reviewing website. I do however have opinions that can be helpful ( I hope). So Vince, here is the Bloggers Showroom review.
The overall layout of the blog is decent. I wasn’t struck with any feelings negatively or positively, which means I don’t think the look and feel of your site is bad but it’s not impressive either. Being that the name of your blog is “Bloggers Showroom” I feel as though I should have been impressed by it’s look and feel. I often like to compare websites to physical stores. I do this because I feel that whether we are in a physical store or browsing a website we still have impressions of it’s usefulness, look and feel.
Bloggers Showroom could be compared to a car showroom. Your showroom could look like a used car lot or for brand new BMWs. If you are selling used cars your expectations are not that high but if you are selling high priced automobiles then you do except the showroom to fit the value of the car. My point is that I think the look of your blog should offer visitors and potential blog submitters a high class showroom.
To start I would try and improve the header picture quality. I would also suggest that you find a little bit more interesting blog theme. A three column blog theme can offer you more navigation space but just as important, sponsor ad space. I know your goal is to increase your income through blogging and one of the best tips I can offer any blogger seeking income through blogging is to be sure save space for advertisers. I did find a Wordpress theme that I thought would go very well with your blog. It’s not actually a three column theme like I mentioned but it can give a quick view of the three most recent blogs submitted. There is still room for advertiser spots so it’s all good
> CasualShirt . I have listed some suggestions for this theme at the end of this posts.
Like I said before, I do this Bloggers Showroom has potential. The reason I believe this is because it is offering bloggers who are just getting started exposure for their blog. If nothing else people who are really interesting in learning what people think can have the opportunity to find out. Though reviews and ratings can be painful at times the information learned can bring you to a higher level of blogging.
Some other suggestions I would offer for Bloggers Showroom is to have categories list in the sidebar. This will enable people to find the types of reviewed blogs they are looking for. You might also want to categorize them into blogging platforms such as Wordpress, Blogger, etc.
So I hope my suggestions where helpful and constructive. I hope success for your new blogging venture.
CasualShirt theme customization suggestions > A custom header image would be a good addition. Underneath the top navigation I would try to make a space for a large banner ad spot or 3-4 small button ads ( going across the top not down). You could also use the space below the three posts for advertising.
You could use the blog roll for your the blogs that were featured and including the archives is a good choice.

Blogger Showroom sounds like a great idea…I love reading multiple blogs but sometimes you find blogs that just plain suck…always nice to have a place to rate and review a blog to help others and the community find quality.
Thanks Matt for stopping by and commenting.
very interesting, but I don’t agree with you
