Ok, I may have over shot with the title but I bet it got your attention. I have decided that if I am going to attempt to earn the title of Queen of Social Networking I have to plan. So to start I have created a sheet of all the social networks I am currently a member. The sheet has three columns to insert name of the network in one column, user name and password in the second column and the third column is for recording the value of the network and how many times a month I plan on visiting.
So far I recorded 13 networks that I am apart of. Most of them I am not actively involved in but that will probably change with this branding project. I have decided that I will not be joining all networks that I come across. I haven’t exactly decided how I will weed networks out of my choice list but I know I probably won’t be joining too many “friends” networks.

This is a great idea. I will definitely be following a long. It is really hard weeding through all the social networks….and I always belong to one or more that is having some sort of problem as far as working.
I have thought of joining MySpace and some of the others lately as it would make conversing easier. Plus there is some sort of way on MySpace to make your site stay up even after you pass away. I blog anonymously but I have left strict instructions with Husband to unveil my identity, if I haven’t already by then, and continue my blog for a bit if he can. Yes, I think about these kind of things. I have developed a bond with many of my readers….I guess that’s social networking.
Good luck with your project. Social networks can be a large source of traffic and should not be neglected. In fact, it is always good to try and diversify your traffic sources so that should the search engines change their algorithms, the impact would not be as great as for those sites that solely rely on search engine traffic.
@ gadgets - I agree that social networks can be a large source of traffic. Much of the traffic I get now is from social networks. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
@ thebluesbutterfly - thanks for you encouraging words
