I have probably mentioned many times before that I am a bit of a penny pincher. The reason is because my family is trying to get out of debt and try to achieve financial freedom. The road toward financial freedom is not always an easy one. Many sacrifices have to take place and their are many times we have to say no to wants. My husband and I enjoy watching movies and saying no to video rentals was one of those difficult sacrifices. Because of our tight budget we choose not to rent videos from Blockbuster regulary like we had in the past and signing up to NetFlix didn’t interest us because it’s a monthly bill. Our goal is to reduce the month bills as much as possible.
So one day I was in my grocery store and noticed this big red vending machine. I had actually passed by it a few times before I stopped to look at it. Redbox lets you rent DVD’s for a dollar a day with no late charges. That may not seem like a great price if you plan on keeping it for a few days but if you are like me and can return it the next day before 7pm then the charge of $1 a rental sounds really good.
The video selection is not that large either but this could be good for those that have a hard time choosing a movie because of large selections. Most of the movies are new releases and they offer you a description and rating of each movie. The Redboxes can be found in grocery stores and McDonald’s resturants. You can return you movie to any Redbox vending machine as well as order you videos online and then pick them up at your local box.
Of course not all stores have these vending machines but I have a feeling they will be in most stores in the US very soon. You can check to see if you have a Redbox near you. Another great thing about Redbox is that you they send you free rental coupon codes. I signed up to get a coupon code sent to my mobile phone every Monday (this is a promotion they have going on right now).
Though Redbox is not for everyone our family loves it. Finding ways to save money on entertainment is one of my life’s goals
so when I find things like this I want to share it with others. I hope you found it useful even though it doesn’t have to do with social media, blogging, online income or web 2.0
.

Its a great concept. I need to find one close to me.
