internetevolution.jpg I offered you a quick link to Internet Evolution the other day and promised I would be writing more about this site so here I am :) .  I found this site through my other Google Meme, otherwise known as Adsense. And in case you are wondering, I did not click on my own Adsense ad ;) .

Though Internet Evolution just launched this month you wouldn’t know by looking at it. It looks like it has been active for years. One reason no doubt for this quick popularity is the fact that all of the authors, both staff and ThinkersNet authors are professionals and experts in various Internet and business fields. I am sure they also had a fairly good advertising budget since I first found the site through an Adsense ad and continue to see that ad. My guess is that word of mouth marketing will be a good source of traffic for this site so hear I am offering some free press to help them out.

Usually one of the first things I do after finding a new site, especially one that I am considering following more intensely, is look up the site’s alexa scores, pagerank and domain age. I think I do this more out of  curiosity than anything else. It doesn’t really change my feelings positively or negatively about the site but does satisfy my curiosity or busybody nosey tendencies ;) . Since this site is brand new there wasn’t much to look at as far as scores and pagerank but the site does have a enormous amount of backlinks on Yahoo search. This might also have to do with the advertising budget I mentioned earlier.

The ThinkersNet author lineup is quite impressive, though I have to be honest I haven’t heard of most of them except for Robert Scoble and Craig Newmark (founder of Craigslist). The fact that I haven’t heard of these people is only a reflection of my limited knowledge of the “people in the know” I am sure. I hope that the ThinkersNet author lineup won’t end up being just a tease though. So far most of the author lineup have not submitted any articles.

As you probably already know I enjoy following the changes that take place within the net. For this reason when I found Internet Evolution I was immediately attracted to the content. I enjoy networking with people who are looking ahead and adding value to the Internet. It seems that Site Editor James Johnson and other staff have a vision of promoting and encouraging intelligent blog content and discussion which is why this site is worth following. If you remember long ago I wrote an article called, Why it’s a good idea to grow with a startup. Internet Evolution is the type of site I was talking about when I wrote that article.
