WidgetBucks - Make Money Online with Widget Ads - Relevant Advertising

Don't forget to subscribe to iwebis RSS feed. You can also Subscribe to iwebis by Email Thanks for visiting!

John Chow started a discussion about WidgetBucks on the Make Money Online community I created on Bumpzee the other day and decided to go check it out. WidgetBucks is pretty cool and I think it has a lot of potential.

WidgetBucks offers publishers/bloggers a pay-per-click shopping widget. WidgetBucks claims that this shopping widget will make your money fast by instantly displaying the most popular products. You can set up your widget to scan the content of your site and offer the most relevant products to your readers.

Most widgets similar to this one require that you enter the category that your site falls into. Though WidgetBucks does offer this feature as well, what makes them different is that they have the option of scalable relevant content search. This feature is especially useful for those sites that do not have a specific one specific niche.

I decided to test the widget first hand to see if it is worth using. I found that the setup process was very easy. In fact is was extremely easy and did not require any coding knowledge. They even offer instructions for Typepad , Blogger and Wordpress users on how to include the widget on your blog.

So I decided to include WidgetBucks on this site for further testing. I am not sure this type of advertising will benefit iwebis but it is worth a try. You can see the widget first hand in sidebar #2.

You may want to separate that ad from the one above it. I tried to click on the widget bucks and ended up at some website with a guy in a swimsuit selling funnels.

    Hi Mona,
I often visit John Chow blog… must have missed the WidgetBucks info. Will definitely check it out for my blogs.

Great to hear it’s easy to install for those wanting to include additional income revenues on their blogs with widgets & instructions for Typepad , Blogger and Wordpress users.

    Hey Gaida,
I ended up taking widget bucks off of this site because the ads that came up really didn’t have anything to do with this site. I think Widget bucks is best for people who have sites they offer information about products. Information sites like iwebis don’t bring buyers. Most people are looking for free information.
I still think it’s a good income source but just not for sites like this one.
Thanks for stopping by! Always glad to see you ;)

    Hi Mona,
Thanks for the widget bucks update. You said that info sites like iwebis don’t bring buyers. If they are regular visitors you never want to dismiss the idea that they won’t buy….If it’s not on offer you’ll never know. They just might be in the right frame of mind.

Feels like summer has arrived and it’s only Spring. Looks like were in for a hot one here in Aus.

    Gaida,
You are right, sometimes there are buyers but I feel it’s important to choose carefully which ads you place on your site. My number one goal is on iwebis is to offer information that is realevant to the topics I discuss. The ads that where apearing where for cell phones. People looking to buy cell phones don’t usually come here looking to find information on cell phones.
I could have changed the widget so that I chose which type of ads appear but non of the categories quite fit. The other reason I got rid of it was because it was slowing down the page load time. My site already loads slowly so I din’t want to make it worse.
Anyway, if I iwebis had a huge amount of traffic then buyers wouldn’t really matter because I would be getting paid per 1000 impressions. Since I am not getting that kind of traffic I thought that removing it would be a better choice.

Thanks for stopping by. Always happy to see you.
