It’s interesting that I discovered Utterz yesterday since I just received my new cell phone yesterday as well. I was thinking about how I could use my cell phone to help me with blogging and then I found out about Utterz through a Adsense ad. Since Mashable has already written about this new beta sight it may not be news to you but it is news to me.
So what is Utterz?
Utterz is the first way you can instantly blog your experiences, thoughts and ideas, anywhere, using all the capabilities of your mobile phone. Utterz mashes together the voice, video, pictures, and text you call or send in and creates an ‘Utter’ that can immediately update your existing web pages on sites like Blogger, Facebook, LiveJournal, MySpace and more.
Basically you can text a message, picture, video or voice message to Utterz and it can appear on your blog if you set it up to do so. This system is set up so that people who don’t have a blog can offer just as much input. Messages sent to Utterz are featured on the All Utterz page. The Topic of the Day page features the most recent reactions to a prompt - such as Britney Spears.
After visiting this site and sending a test post thoughts of how I could use this free service ran through my head. Since I am not really into blogging just a few sentences posts and texting a full post would take me a few hours I have decided that this will probably isn’t what I am looking for. However I am willing to experiment with it and see if the social networking part of it will help increase traffic to my blogs.
Utterz is a bit like Twitter only they offer many more features. I think Utterz is keeping up with the changing web by incorporating mobile phones. I often wonder what the web will look like a year or two from now. I have a strong feeling that the gap between cell phones and Internet will be much smaller in the years to come.
