Hey! Nielsen is an opinions and social networking site that has the potential of influencing the entertainment industry. Since the public launch date is tomorrow I decided to give those who do not yet have access a sneak peak. As of now there is limited access but on Monday, September 24th they will allowing access to the public.
So what is so special about Hey! Nielsen? Unlike most social networking sites Hey! Nielsen is set up to take opinions of people across the globe in hopes of influencing the entertainment industry. Each time someone creates an opinion the rankings change. For instance, if your favorite show is the television show Lost and you want the everyone to know including the network that hosts the show then you would create an opinion for that show. The same process is followed if you dislike a television show, movie, website, or performer.
Hey! Nielsen has five main navigation tabs - Opinions, Rankings, Calenders, Members and Widgets & Feeds. Navigating within the Opinions and Rankings page your are given more options which include- All, TV, Movies, Music, Personalities and Internet. You can view opinions and ranking within these categories by Featured, Popular and Recent. In the sidebar of the Opinions page you are also given the option of navigating using tag clouds.
Hey! Nielsen was created by The Nielsen Company and has the potential of becoming a very large community. I would suggest joining this network, create and react to opinion. Make a difference in the entertainment industry and grow with a startup. Your profile page can include your website/blog which is yet another great way for people to discover your site(s).
