I agree with you that a blog has to be unique in some way, but there’s one little problem. Since there will always be many blogs on every niche, it’s always hard for the newcomers to come up with new content. That’s why i believe it’s OK for them to “inspire” from the already successful blogs, as long as they bring some personal touch to the topic.

Anyway, if a new blogger manages to start a new trend or niche, that would be great, but I’m sure this only happens in like 0.00001% of the time

This is a good point, and good advice. For a blog to succeed, a writer really needs to find their own voice, and not be a pale immitation of someone else’s.

So what do you think about John Cow dot Com? He also is an “imitation” blog, but his is one of the most unique concepts I’ve seen. I think if you use imagination like he did, you can genuinely be successful. But otherwise, I completely agree with you!

Don’t worry the monkey bloggers will die off soon enough. Make money online blogs are a fad and soon the John Chow wannabees will run out of things to rehash (and readers)
