I have run across a number of blogs recently that don’t have the authors name included with each post. I believe it’s very important to include a name with each post. It is important for visitors and commentators to have some way to identify the author.
If you don’t want to include your real name then don’t. Make up an online pen name that you can include in your posts. Don’t just include your name on your About page. Not everyone has time to read your About page so make sure your name is included within your posts.
The main reason I like to know the name of this author is when I am commenting on a post. I think most people like to start their comments with a name. You don’t have to make the blog all about you but you should include some information that gives a human feel to your blog.

Hi monawea,
I mentioned that on our blog not long ago. It’s even more important when there are multiple authors. For having the great good taste to agree with me
and because of the useful subject you’ve chosen, I’m going to add you to our blogroll.

Thanks the Grit! Very cool!
Yeah, when I started, everything said “admin” as the author. It took me like a month to realize that was happening. A real “duh” moment.
You are not the only one that has done that, so don’t feel so bad. We all have those “duh” moments.
