I was sitting in my doctors office the other day and read an article in News Week magazine about a company called Joost. Now I am sure this news has been around for a while so please forgive me if I am brining you old news. I noticed TechCrunch has been blogging about Joost as well as Profy.

For those of you that are slightly behind the info train (like me), Joost is a history in the making. This could be the company that actually pulls off the idea of watching TV on the internet. I am sure this concept has been explored before and the idea of Internet TV has been on everyones wish list.

Joost is a new way of watching TV on the internet. With Joost, you get all the things you love about TV, including a high-quality full-screen picture, hundreds of full-length shows and easy channel-flipping.

Joost is not just internet TV, it’s interactive TV.

Chat, instant messaging, search and more - baked right into the TV experience.

Joost offers complete control of your TV watching experience. Apparently you can watch shows when you want rather than by scheduled broadcastings. Best of all it’s free.

Some networks that are already available on Joost beta are Comedy Central, Warner Bro. Records, Fight Network, National Geographic and MTV. There is actually a large list of networks listed on the site that available to the US and Worldwide.

Joost is currently in beta and requires those interested in joining to acquire an invite from someone who already has a Joost account. For an invite Joost suggests you:

Ask a friend.

If you have friends already using Joost, just ask them for an invitation. Joost viewers are receiving brand-new invites to share with their buddies.

Watch the blogs.

Keep an eye on the internet. Lots of Joost users are already blogging about Joost. Get involved, play nice, and they may send an invite your way.

Another and more easier option would be to visit the personalized TechCruch Joost invite page that I just discovered on the CrunchForums.
