A few months ago I cam across a website that intrigued me. I have always loved the Internet and how it can bring the world together. It is still true however that even though we have access to the rest of the world many people never experience much outside their own country. Blogs have changed the world wide web in a very positive way. More than ever people from all over the world are able to express themselves and share it with the world. The website I came across is called Nuffnang Hub and prides itself on being Asia’s First Blog Advertising Community.

I had never given much thought to the fact that there was an Asian blogging community. This is not to say I didn’t think it was possible, I just didn’t really think about. As I read through the recently launched (Feb 2007) Nuffnang website I realized that the Malaysian blogging community is booming. It could be that the Asian blogging community in general is booming because Nuffnang now as included Singapore as well. Why is Nuffnang important to Asian bloggers and advertisers?

This is the dream of Nuffnang: To create an opportunity for local advertisers to reach out and experience the power of blog advertising in Malaysia.

Unlike the American based blog advertising companies, Nuffnang pays their bloggers in RM.

This post wasn’t meant to be an advertisement for Nuffnang (though I am sure they appreciate the free press) but instead to give my side of the world a look into the other side of the world. After stumbling across Nuffnang I went on to discover another Asian blog advertising company called Advertlets.

Here are some really good Asian blogs I found during my search:

Here is a great resource for Malaysian bloggers:

It seems that blogging is becoming popular around the world and I plan to write more articles dedicated to this area of the changing web.

I wish that it were not just for Malaysian bloggers. Maybe that will come later when/if they can afford to send checks aboard. Of course, I just speak from wishful thinking since I don’t know the legalities of that. :-)
