Not necessarily right or wrong, just the way it was explained to me and the lights were turned on.

@ Internet Genius - Thanks for sharing your goals with us.
@ Cade - Thanks for the input.
@ digitalnomad - I really appreciate you explaining the difference between goals and objectives. I will try to use the right term next time I speak of goals. ;)

Most people misunderstand goals and objectives. Goals are end oriented (the end result desired). Objective are the tasks (or steps) that allow you to reach a goal.

"Objectives", which few people discuss, are what get you to your final goals. You cannot reach goals without setting and meeting objectives.

You can create all the goals you want, but will never reach a single goal without a well defined list of objectives that are "attainable, "written down", and "dated" (timeline).

Also, "goals" and "objectives" are very different animals.

Objectives are action oriented. Goals are not.

I totally understand where you are coming from with your feelings with goals. I was always kind of scared or annoyed with goals, but then I started to set them and I saw the impact of what it has done for me in my life. Truly people find success because they know where they are going and they follow the steps day after day taht is going to get them there.

My goal is to blog at least 2-3 times per week, but ultimately I would like to get up to 5 times per week. When it comes to setting goals, however, one of the most fundamental things you can do is to master the art of time management. One of my mentors is Jill Koenig, the Goal Guru. She has a free newsletter than you can sign up for (GREAT encouragement, by the way!!) as well as a program called the "Time Commandments".

As far as making money with my blog, that is only a secondary goal for me ... My number one goal with my blog, Epic Web Strategies, is truly to HELP people and provide valuable internet marketing advice!!
