I decided to experiment with the MyBlogLog widget in the header of this site. I like the idea of using my readers and visitors as a header image but I am curious to find out if readers/visitors like it or not. Do you think the MyBlogLog widget in the header is a good idea? Tell me what you think.

My opinion about the header is that it currently is to much on the foreground. It seems that it is almost more importand then the articles on your site.
I think you should reconsider the place of the widget, perhapse at the bottom or on the side.

Peter, thanks for the input. The idea is that its a way reward my readers but I understand what you are saying. I am going to see what other readers have to say before I make any final decisions.
Hi Mona! I look forward to reading your blog regularly, after finding it through MyBlogLog. Although that is a great service, your content is the most important element of your website, especially content as helpful as what’s here. IMHO the widget would be better in the sidebar or at the bottom.
Chell, I completely agree with you about the content but I don’t see how the widget being a header is conflicting with the content. If I removed the widget the content would be much higher than it is now. Do you mean that it is distracting? The way I am approaching the startup of this blog is that iwebis is nothing without it’s readers. So to show this I thought I would let everyone know that iwebis readers are important by putting them at the top of this site. Anyway, I really appreciate the input. Like I said my readers are very important and if they don’t like the widget in the header then out it goes. But I am going to keep it up for a while and see if anyone else has a different opinion.

I think the MyBlogLog widget is very creative!
I think overall the header takes up too much space. But that’s mostly due to white space. You might experiment with tightening it up a bit.

First of all congrats for this new site.I like the header image of Mybloglog widget.Its good to make something different in order to allure visitors but i think the images in the header are little small so can you make it a medium one?Overall nice header.
bryan, I had the medium when I first started but they seemed to big. I might try it again though. Thanks for the input and encouragement!
Definitely a good way to reward your readers. Perhaps to capture more of them add the BlogCatalog friend’s widget too
