What happened to Monawea? Well, lots. I haven’t been much of a blogger lately for a few reasons but the main reason would be because I had to go back to work outside the home. My husband lost his job a few months ago and we have been trying to stay above water. It’s been a difficult time for us but we are managing so far.
I hope still pop in here from time to time and keep this blog updated. Hope you are all doing well.
You can read a little more about how this job lose has affected us on my Time to Budget blog.
When I first decided to attempted to become the “Queen” of social network marketing I didn’t really know how I was going to determine whether I succeeded or not. The idea of the Queen of Social Network Marketing was to see if social sites could be an effective marketing tool. With a few rules and guidelines set in place for myself I ventured to find out if it could be possible.
I don’t know if I have yet succeeded but I do know that have 21,400 search results (google search results) to my online pen name monawea. Some of the search results are probably not related to social networks but the majority are. I started this branding project around October of 2007 and so far I am pleased with the results since I haven’t really work at it very much.
The social network marketing rules and guidelines:
- Use a unique user name (monawea) on all social networks.
- Use the same photo/avatar on every network.
- Use every respectful opportunity available to promote my websites.
- Always contribute useful relevant information to social networks.
- Contribute a little bit of personal info with a little bit of business – good balance.
- Use a social network status manager (like HelloTxt or Ping.fm)
The result of the project thus far.
- 21,400 links to monawea.
- мебелиSocial networks are bringing a large portion of traffic to iwebis.
It may be that I have a long way to go before I will be officially considered the “Queen” but I am pleased with the results so far.
Just a side note. When HerProBlog.COM was in the pre-launch advertising stage I only used social media as a marketing tool. The first day of official launch we received over 900 page views.
Ok, so lately I have been not a very good blogger. I am not sure what exactly happened other than my usually very busy life. I think the lack of blogging officially started when my kids started school. I usually get very busy when my kids start school.
So my goal for 2009 is to return to a more active blogging schedule. I am going to try and follow a schedule and blog on all five of my blogs on a regular basis. I need to take my blogging job more seriously and plan better. I also want to be a more active blog reader again.
I really appreciate my readers and wish you a very Happy and Successful New Year!

15 Things I Learned In 2007
I don’t know if you are like me but sometimes it is difficult for me to not get consumed by the the internet. I think that may be why it is difficult for me to reenter the internet world once I have been away for a while.
For the past month I have been trying to get back into the blogging groove. For some reason it’s been very difficult. Yes, my life is a bit busier but that can’t be the only reason I have been so disconnected.
So, basically what I am trying to say is that I am trying very hard to get back into the blogging groove and hope you will be patient with me.
I am working on an article about Joomla. I am hoping to have it published this week.
I have been working on becoming as unproductive as possible so I have now found the solution. Find as many microblogging sites as possible and hang out there all day ;o).
Actually as you may or may not already know, I am working towards becoming the “Queen of Social Network Marketing“. I have been working on this for some time now and I can’t say for certain if it’s working. I am not sure when I will consider my efforts successful but I have been successful at joining a lot of networks.
I suppose when others start calling me the “Queen of SNM” I will have reached my goal ;o).
So if you are into microblogging and like to listen to music, Blip.fm might be a great addition to your distraction list.
Blip.fm offers all the great things social microblogging sites such as twitter, plurk, and jaiku but with the added feature of listening and sharing music. You can friend people with similar music interests and have their music added to your DJ list.
There a few things about Blip.fm that are a little fuzzy to me but overall this social music sharing microblogging platform is pretty cool.
